Medical lead, obesity medicine
Specialist in general internal medicine
Leadership responsibility from day one — in a field that is growing faster than almost any other. Part of the team you work with: physicians, physician associates, practice coordination and practice management.
- 42 h
- working week instead of up to 50 h in hospital
- 0
- night, weekend and emergency shifts
- 6 + 5
- weeks of holiday and paid training days
- SMOB
- recognised Swiss Medical Obesity Center
What you lead
You take professional responsibility for our resident physicians, physician associates and medical practice coordinators. You supervise, sign off and train — and so shape how medicine is practised at Adimed. Adimed is recognised by the SIWF as a training site for general internal medicine: you train within a recognised curriculum. Your own clinic covers conservative obesity treatment, follow-up after bariatric surgery and the care of bariatric emergencies. You learn obesity medicine with us — and we take the time for it. That is why the leadership role grows in three steps:
Months 1 to 3
Induction
Focus on clinic, obesity medicine from the ground up
Then
70 : 30
clinic and leadership
Once you carry the team
50 : 50
clinic and leadership
Why Adimed
Since October 2026 Adimed has been recognised as a Swiss Medical Obesity Center (SMOB/SGED) and is one of the established obesity centres in Switzerland. Psychologists, dietitians and physicians here do not work side by side but together on the same case. We also have our own diagnostics: bioimpedance analysis, calorimetry, oral glucose tolerance testing and our own laboratory. Working here makes you visible: we research with our own data, supervise doctoral theses, give talks and run an established online journal club.
What you bring
- Specialist title in general internal medicine (FMH or MEBEKO-recognised)
- Several years of clinical experience after the title
- Enjoy guiding younger colleagues — training experience is a plus, not a requirement
- Broad internal medicine knowledge; a focus on endocrinology/diabetology, nutritional or sports medicine is welcome
- Experience in obesity and bariatrics is welcome but not required — we will teach you
- Confident with digital tools
What we hope for
That you are as enthusiastic about this field of medicine as we are. Helping people towards a more self-determined life is what drives you. You bring your own ideas and help shape the further development of Adimed.
"We do not offer ready-made treatment plans; we develop an individual strategy for every person."
