Your path

Five steps from registration to long-term care — so you know what you are getting into.

  1. 1

    First consultation with a physician

We go through your history: comorbidities, medication and above all what you have already tried — not to judge it, but so that we do not suggest the same thing again.

  2. 2

    Dietary assessment by phone

Our dietetics team calls and records how you actually eat — working hours, meal rhythm, eating out. On the phone this is often more candid than in a consulting room.

  3. 3

    Metabolic assessment

Metabolic laboratory, oral glucose tolerance test, bioimpedance analysis and indirect calorimetry. This tells us how your metabolism actually works, rather than estimating it from a formula.

  4. 4

Results consultation with a treatment proposal

All findings come together. From them we build a proposal: which route, in what order, with what goal — and what your insurance will cover. The decision is made together.

  5. 5

    Long-term care

Obesity is chronic, so treatment does not end with the proposal. Follow-up includes laboratory checks and repeat bioimpedance analysis (BIA). The laboratory shows how blood sugar, lipids and liver values develop and whether deficiencies arise during treatment; BIA shows whether you are losing fat mass while holding on to muscle — a distinction the scale cannot make, and one that matters particularly during drug treatment. Alongside that: adjustment of therapy and dietetics in-house, including the stretches where nothing seems to move.

Before the first visit

What to bring

  • Insurance card and, if you have one, the referral
  • A list of your medication
  • Earlier findings — laboratory results, sleep studies, operation reports
  • And gladly: what helped in earlier attempts and what did not

Frequently asked

Waiting time, cost, referral

How long until the first appointment?
Currently 4–6 months. For urgent cases please call us.
Does insurance cover the treatment?
From a BMI of 25 kg/m², basic insurance generally covers the assessment and in part also the treatment. We discuss the details at the first consultation. Medication and surgery carry additional conditions that must be clarified and applied for in advance. We handle the application.
Do I need a referral?
Not necessarily. You can register yourself in writing or be referred by your GP — a referral helps because earlier findings come with it. Either way we review the registration and email you a personal link for your appointments.
What if nothing moves?
You stay in treatment regardless. Weight does not run in a straight line, and stretches without progress are part of it — they are no reason to stop care.
